Announcement

The 19th Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking (BMEB) International Conference and Call for Papers

The region’s premier institution, Bank Indonesia Institute – Bank Indonesia, is pleased to host the 19th Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking (BMEB) International Conference and Call for Papers on “Geopolitics, Climate Risks, and Digitalisation: The Future of the Central Banking” in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Association (APAEA).

BMEB is an international peer-reviewed and open-access journal. BMEB focuses on a broad range of topics covering monetary economics and policy, finance and banking, macro-prudential policy, payment systems, financial stability, financial markets, economic growth, and structural reform that are of regional and global relevance. The BMEB’s scope is global and the journal endeavours to publish high quality research that contributes to the literature and/or has an impact on policy making and/or policy design. In this regard, BMEB welcomes research papers from both central bank and non-central bank economists, academics, and policy makers regardless of their institutional affiliation and geographic location. Since 2019, the BMEB has been indexed in Scopus, listed in Australia Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List, and included in SINTA-1 Accreditation by the Ministry of Research and Higher Education – the Republic of Indonesia.

In an era defined by increasing uncertainty, central banks face unprecedented challenges in maintaining economic and financial stability and fostering sustainable economic growth. Effective policymaking and policy design are crucial to navigate the complex challenges, such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, and rapid digital innovation in the economy and financial sector.

This call for paper seeks to explore key issues and challenges faced as well as policy responses that can be considered by central banks and authorities to achieve economic stability and growth. Manuscripts of high analytical quality from diverse perspectives, including theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented approaches are encouraged. Submissions from authors based in emerging and developing countries are particularly welcomed.
